A half-drop repeat sets each row of globes between those of the row before, so the eye reads a diagonal rather than a grid and the 76.2 cm repeat never announces itself.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHung in a bedroom or a small sitting room it has the lift of a stripe without the formality of one. It also holds up well in a stairwell, where the stems do something useful with the height.
