The result has a softness that flatbed printing never achieves: edges are marginally imprecise, the ink has body, and the pattern sits on the surface rather than in it. It is the reason archive papers printed this way still look different from modern reproductions of the same designs.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe repeat is only 14 cm, so the design behaves almost as a texture from any distance, and pattern matching across the 0.53 m roll is quick with little waste. That short repeat makes it a good choice for rooms full of awkward returns: a passage, a landing, a small bedroom, the inside of a cupboard-lined dressing room.
