The colour is in the yarn, so the stripe has depth and a slightly softened edge where the warps meet, and the surface is matt. It is a straightforward, hard-working cloth with a firm, dry handle. Woven stripes of this kind wear better than printed ones because there is no surface layer to rub away, which matters on the front edge of a seat cushion.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is 100 per cent cotton, 134 centimetres wide, with a 26.8 centimetre horizontal repeat and no vertical repeat. GP \u0026amp; J Baker list it for curtains, loose and fixed upholstery and bedspreads. Four colourways: Teal\/Ochre, Blue, Emerald\/Blue and Jazz. Blue is the plainest and the easiest to build on; Teal\/Ochre and Emerald\/Blue each set one colour against another; Jazz runs the widest range of colour through the bands.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe use stripes of this width for curtains, where the vertical bands give a window height, and for loose covers on a sofa where a single stripe can run down the front of each cushion.
