It is the heaviest-textured of Kit Kemp's stripes for GP \u0026amp; J Baker, and it reads as much as a texture as a pattern. The hand is dry and substantial.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSixty per cent jute with 40 per cent cotton, woven 139 centimetres wide, with a horizontal repeat of 17.3 centimetres and no vertical repeat, so nothing is lost on the drop. It is listed for curtains, loose and fixed upholstery and bedspreads. Three colourways: Indigo\/Chocolate, Clementine\/Green and Jewel. Indigo\/Chocolate is the one we use for seating, while Jewel puts several strong colours into the banding and is better kept to cushions or a single chair.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWe use it for ottomans and bench seats, for cushions where the bands can be centred, and for simple unlined curtains in a garden room. It is sturdy enough for a window seat that gets daily use. Pair it with a plain cotton and one of the smaller prints rather than a second stripe. In a hallway it stands up to bags and coats better than most decorative cloths.
