It has real Highland credentials, and it is the cloth we would choose over a printed check whenever the room can carry the extra weight and warmth.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe wool is 100 per cent, 150 centimetres wide, with a 16 centimetre vertical repeat and a 9.5 centimetre horizontal one, a small, dense sett. Six colourways: Woodsmoke is the softest neutral; Charcoal\/Blue is cool and formal; Lovat is the tweedy green; Russet\/Teal and Russet\/Green both pair a warm ground with a cooler check; and Red\/Green is the most traditional tartan combination of the six. Lovat is the one we specify most for a study.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe would put this on a wing chair, a footstool or a window seat in a study or a gun room, or hang it as curtains in a hall where the pattern can be seen from a distance. It also makes a fine bedspread over a plain linen. Pair it with a plain wool or one of the tartan wallpapers.
