Olvera comes from the Jeffrey Alan Marks Waterside collection, a coastal-inspired book built around clean lines and an easy, relaxed sophistication. It is a woven texture rather than a print, with a soft, fluid drape from its rayon content and just enough structure in the weave to read as more than a plain. Jeffrey Alan Marks is known for interiors that favour texture and tone over pattern, and Olvera is a good example of that approach translated into cloth.

The composition is 67 per cent rayon and 33 per cent polyester, woven 142.55 centimetres wide, with an 11.45 centimetre vertical and 17.82 centimetre horizontal repeat. Baker Lifestyle test it to 27,000 rubs on the Martindale, and it is rated for curtains, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. One colourway, Linen, a soft, warm neutral true to the collection's coastal palette. The rayon content is what gives the cloth its slight fall and sheen, closer to the hand of a silk-look weave than a crisp cotton.

We use Olvera for curtains in a relaxed, light-filled room, on a slipcovered chair, or as the base cloth for a bedspread where the room wants texture rather than pattern. It sits naturally with Cords, also from the Waterside collection, and with plain linens in the same tonal family. It also makes a comfortable, informal curtain lining when you want the reverse of a patterned drape to read as calmly as the front. Allow one extra repeat per drop to keep the texture level across a pair of curtains, and around ten per cent over on upholstery cuts.
