Opera Plain is, as the name says, the plain-weave companion in Baker Lifestyle's Opera Garden book, meant to be used alongside Opera Stripe, Porcelain and Tumbling Leaves rather than on its own. Our supplier spec sheet for this SKU came back incomplete, so we cannot confirm the composition or a rub count, but a plain of this kind is normally chosen for colour and hand rather than pattern. Opera Garden itself is built around garden trellis and floral motifs, so a calm plain like this earns its place by giving the eye somewhere to rest.

We can confirm the width, 137 centimetres, matching the rest of the Opera Garden book. It is supplied in a single colourway on our system, coded 160 rather than named, so we cannot tell you the exact shade without a sample. A single coded colourway is unusual for this collection, so we would treat 160 as a placeholder until a sample confirms the shade. We have not invented a composition or repeat for this listing; those figures simply are not confirmed yet.

We would expect to use Opera Plain the way we use any book plain: curtains where the pattern is on the walls or another piece of furniture, cushions to rest the eye between prints, or a headboard in a room that already has plenty going on. It would also suit a simple blind in a small room where a patterned fabric elsewhere would feel too busy. Sold by the half metre; order a sample to see it in your own light.
