Baker Lifestyle | Samba

Samba is the plain companion to Samba Stripe in Baker Lifestyle's Carnival book, sharing the name but carrying no stripe of its own. Our supplier spec sheet for this particular SKU came back incomplete, so we cannot confirm the composition or a rub count, though a plain companion of this kind is typically chosen to sit alongside its striped or patterned sibling. Carnival pairs its plains with the boldest prints in the book, so we would expect Samba to be a straightforward, easy-going neutral rather than a feature cloth.

We can confirm the width, 130 centimetres, a little narrower than Samba Stripe's 142. It is supplied in a single colourway on our system, coded 3 rather than named. A single coded colourway suggests this SKU may be a newer addition to the book, still working through the supplier's full data pipeline. We have not carried over the composition or the rub figure from Samba Stripe, since the two are different SKUs and we would rather confirm Samba's own sheet before publishing numbers for it.

We would expect to use Samba the way we use any book plain in Carnival: curtains or upholstery in a room where Samba Stripe, Carnival Chevron or one of the other patterns is doing the main work, with Samba providing a quiet, toning background. It would also work as a cushion back or a simple blind lining, wherever a calm ground matters more than pattern. Sold by the half metre; order a sample to see it in your own light.

With no confirmed repeat, order a working margin over your measured quantity. Check the weight and hand of the sample against Samba Stripe if you are planning to use the two together, since a plain and its patterned sibling do not always come from identical base cloths.
