Wild Flower is a printed linen and cotton from Block Party, drawn as a loose upright botanical rather than a tidy repeating sprig. The repeat is 34 centimetres down and only 15 across, so the stems run as narrow vertical columns and the design climbs a curtain rather than spreading sideways. The cloth has a generous linen content, which gives it a slightly open, textured ground, and the print sits into that texture instead of on a flat surface.

The composition is 56 per cent linen and 44 per cent cotton, 137 centimetres wide, with a 34 centimetre vertical and 15 centimetre horizontal repeat. Baker Lifestyle rate it for curtains, loose and fixed upholstery and bedspreads, and publish no rub count. There is one colourway, Stone, a soft greyed-beige drawing on a natural ground that behaves as a near-neutral in a room and does not commit you to a colour.

The vertical drawing makes this a curtain cloth first, particularly on a tall narrow window where the upright stems help the proportion. We also use it on a slipper chair or a small bedroom armchair, and it makes a restrained bedspread in a room that already has a patterned wall. Because the horizontal repeat is narrow, joins fall often across a wide window, so plan the seams to put a full stem at each leading edge and let the joins land behind the folds. Allow one extra vertical repeat per drop. Note that the care advice given for this design does not include dry cleaning: treat it as a no-wash cloth and ask your maker to protect it during making-up.
