Les Vignes is a fine stripe, woven in polyolefin, and its appeal is how orderly it is. The stripe is narrow and close, so from a distance it reads almost as a plain with a gentle rhythm to it, and up close you see the line. It sits in the L'ETERNEL Ete part of the Les Ensembliers collection, which points to a cloth made to be used and enjoyed in warm, bright rooms. As a stripe it gives a room structure without making it formal, which is useful when other surfaces are already carrying pattern.
The cloth is 100% polyolefin and 138.29 cm wide, with a vertical repeat of just 3.56 cm. That small repeat is helpful, because it means very little waste when you match, and the stripe is easy to keep straight. It is offered in four colourways: charcoal, linen, sand and indigo. It is listed as suitable for upholstery. We have not been given a Martindale figure, so we cannot quote a rub count, but polyolefin is a hard-working fibre and we would be comfortable considering it for regular use.
We would use it on a dining chair, where the stripe looks tidy in a row, or on a family sofa or a pair of window seats where the cloth will see daily wear. Charcoal and indigo suit a library or a study, set against panelled walls or bookshelves. Linen and sand are lighter and work well in a garden room or a kitchen with a banquette. We would pair it with a plain weave in a close colour for the cushions, and perhaps one bolder pattern nearby so the stripe stays calm.
For making up, the main point is straightness: the stripe should run true on each panel, so ask your upholsterer to line it up carefully on seat, back and arms, and to check it against the frame before final fixing. The 3.56 cm repeat makes matching easy, but order a little extra so you can cut every piece with the stripe running the same way. On a sofa, we would run the stripe vertically on the back and keep it aligned across the cushions. Always confirm cleaning guidance with us before use.
