Neria is a drawn floral based on oleander: tall, upright stems with narrow leaves and small flower heads, set on the Johara velvet-effect ground. The drawing is spare and the stems are widely spaced, so the paper reads as a soft vertical rhythm rather than a dense print. On vinyl with a non-woven backing, the velvet texture of the ground gives the motif a little depth.
Vinyl on a non-woven backing at 330 grams per square metre, 70 centimetres wide on a 10.05 metre roll, straight match with an 80 centimetre vertical repeat. Fire rated B-s2,d0 and ASTM E84 Class A, with an A+ COV rating, and made in Italy. Four colourways: Grège, Vert Amande, Bois De Rose and Orage; Grège is the quietest and the one for a whole bedroom, Vert Amande is a soft green, and Bois De Rose and Orage suit a single wall in a dressing room or a dining room.
We hang Neria on a bedhead wall, on all four walls of a small bedroom, or in a dressing room, with the plain Johara in the matching base colour on any walls left over. It pairs well with a plain linen curtain, a pale floor and very little else on the walls. Sold by the roll; order a sample before committing to a full room.
Hang it as a paste-the-wall non-woven and dry strip later. The straight match means each drop aligns with its neighbour at the same height, so cut drops to whole 80 centimetre repeats and allow for that waste. A 70 centimetre by 10.05 metre roll covers about 7 square metres before matching; a typical 3.5 by 2.6 metre wall takes 5 drops of 3.2 metres, which is 2 rolls.
