Vassily by Casamance takes abstract painting as its starting point, arranging shapes and areas of colour across a canvas-like grain. The reference is Kandinsky’s improvisational work, expressed through a composition that suggests movement rather than a fixed order. Softer and stronger colour combinations share the same textured treatment within the painted-looking forms.
