Alyssandra by Christopher Guy is a pair of tapered metal wall sconces inset with bevelled mirrors. The long, narrow profiles give the composition a strong vertical line, while the mirrored surfaces introduce a smaller, more fragmented reflection than a conventional wall mirror. We would use the pair to frame a central feature, leaving enough space between the elements for their relationship to be clear. The interest lies in proportion, repetition and the contrast between metal and glass.

The supplied size is 18 cm wide by 3 cm deep by 150 cm high, in Bronzage. We would consider the 150 cm height carefully against the architecture and any furniture beneath. These are slender pieces, so their position matters as much as their scale. Custom sizes and finishes are available on request. We would discuss the intended arrangement at the outset, particularly where the pair is being considered for an existing alcove or panelled wall.

In a hallway, we would place Alyssandra either side of a restrained central artwork, keeping the console below uncomplicated. In a sitting room, the pair could provide a vertical rhythm beside a broad piece of furniture. We would also consider them in a bedroom with calm fabrics and simple joinery. The Bronzage finish could sit alongside warmer timber, with the bevelled mirrors adding a more precise note to the surrounding softer surfaces.

We would make a full wall elevation before settling the spacing, checking the relationship from the main doorway and the usual seating position. Agree the installation layout and appropriate fixings with the installer, taking the wall construction into account.
