Florentia by Christopher Guy takes the language of a Florentine frame and gives it a mirrored centre. A hand carved garland of leaves follows the rectangular outline, bringing detail to an otherwise clear, ordered shape. We would use it where a room needs a decorative edge without losing that sense of structure. The rectangle relates easily to a chest or mantel, while the leaf carving introduces a softer rhythm around the reflection.

Three supplied sizes are available: 79 by 109 cm, 92 by 127 cm and 105 by 145 cm, given as width by height, each 4 cm deep. Finishes are Cristo, White Shadow, White Lacq., Porcelain Lacq., 14th Century Gold Leaf, Black Matte and Italian Silver Leaf. We would choose the finish alongside the wall colour and the furniture beneath. Custom sizes and finishes are available on request where an existing architectural feature calls for a more particular proportion.

We would pair Florentia with a simple timber chest in a bedroom, using plain curtains and a shaded lamp to keep the arrangement calm. In a hallway, it could sit over a console with a restrained profile. Above a sitting room mantel, we would let the leaf garland provide most of the ornament. A small, simply shaped vase of branches could repeat its natural reference, although we would position it so the carved border remains visible.

We would check the mirror's full dimensions against cornicing, nearby sconces and the width of the furniture before ordering. A paper outline helps establish the balance, while a check of the reflected view determines the most useful hanging height. Ask the installer to confirm the wall construction and suitable fixing method. We would request care guidance for the selected finish rather than assume all surfaces should be treated alike. Estimated delivery is 18–20 weeks, with custom requirements agreed in advance.
