Jaeger by Christopher Guy is a round mirror with a gently waved, uneven outline held within a fine wooden frame. We would use it when a room needs a circular form with a little more movement. The variation around the edge gives the shape character without relying on elaborate ornament. We would keep the surrounding arrangement relatively simple, allowing the line of the frame and the reflected room to become the main points of interest.
The supplied sizes are 70, 110, 150 and 200 cm in both width and height, each with a depth of 5 cm. Renaissance Gold Leaf, Italian Silver Leaf and Tabac are the available finishes. That range allows the same design to work at very different scales. We would start with the width of the wall or furniture below and choose the size from there. Custom sizes and finishes are also available on request.
Above a compact hallway console, the smaller version could sit with a single lamp and a shallow tray. In a sitting room, we would consider a larger Jaeger above a sideboard, paired with a straight-fronted cabinet to emphasise the softer outline. The broadest size could become a principal feature on a generous wall. We would bring in texture through curtains, upholstery or a rug, leaving the wall itself calm enough for the circular shape to read.
We would check the full diameter against nearby door frames and furniture, then look at the reflection from the usual approach to the room in changing light. A paper template makes those relationships easier to judge before ordering. We would ask the installer to confirm the wall construction and appropriate fixing method, and obtain care guidance for the chosen finish. Estimated delivery is 18–20 weeks.
