Christopher Guy | Le Portail

Le Portail by Christopher Guy combines a tall mirrored surface with a gently curving outline. We would use its shape to soften a room built around straight lines: a dressing space with fitted cupboards, a hallway with panelled doors, or a bedroom with a simple upholstered bed. The profile supplies the detail, so the setting can remain restrained. We would allow enough surrounding wall for the curves to register rather than pressing the mirror between competing objects.

All 3 supplied sizes are 70 cm wide and 5 cm deep, with heights of 105 cm, 148 cm or 185 cm. The available finishes are Oro Nero and 20th Century Silver. We would choose the height according to the intended view and the furniture nearby, then consider the finish alongside handles, lighting and timber. Custom sizes and finishes are available on request where the proportions need a more individual approach.

In a dressing room, we would position the taller version where the reflected view is useful and the approach remains clear. In a hallway, it could bring a softer outline beside a straight console. We would consider the shorter size above a bedroom chest, paired with a plain lamp and a carefully chosen small tray. A textured wall or quiet woven fabric nearby would give the curved frame a considered setting without asking it to compete.

Before ordering, we would check the mirror's full height against skirting, door swings and any adjacent fittings. Marking the outline on the wall helps establish a useful viewing position. We would ask the installer to confirm the mounting arrangement and wall fixing requirements, rather than assume the mirror can be placed in any orientation. Request the appropriate care guidance for the finish. Estimated delivery is 18–20 weeks, with bespoke requirements agreed before the order is placed.
