Rococo by Christopher Guy brings flowing decorative carving to a solid mahogany frame. We would use it as a deliberate counterpoint to simpler furniture, allowing the ornament to stand on its own. The outline has enough movement to become the principal feature above a chest or mantel. In a contemporary room, we would keep the surrounding shapes direct and unfussy; in a more traditional setting, we would leave space between the mirror and other detailed pieces.
Four sizes are supplied, as width by depth by height: 63 by 10 by 110 cm; 80 by 13 by 139 cm; 96 by 15 by 167 cm; and 113 by 13 by 196 cm. Finishes are 14th Century Gold Leaf, Italian Silver Leaf and Black Matte. We would check depth as well as height when choosing a version. Custom sizes and finishes are available on request for a particular scheme.
We would place Rococo above a straight-fronted console in an entrance hall, perhaps with one substantial vessel below. In a bedroom, a plain upholstered headboard and quiet curtains with simple bedding would balance the carved mahogany frame. Above a sitting room mantel, we would consider the relationship to the fireplace opening and neighbouring joinery. The finish could connect with a small detail elsewhere in the room, but we would avoid making every metal or decorative surface match.
We would mark the chosen dimensions on the wall before confirming the order, checking the carved outline against cornicing and nearby fittings. The reflected view should be considered from both seated and standing positions. Ask the installer to assess the wall construction and fixing requirements for the selected size. We would obtain finish-specific care advice before cleaning. Estimated delivery is 18–20 weeks, and any custom proportions should be settled with the surrounding furniture arrangement in mind.
