Christopher Guy | Urbane II

Urbane II by Christopher Guy arranges 19 irregular rectangles of mirrored glass within a joined metal frame. We would consider it as a composition of separate views, with the grid giving the wall structure and the changing proportions keeping it from feeling uniform. The design brings a subtle graphic quality to a room without relying on printed pattern. We would give it a clear setting where the divisions can be appreciated from a little distance.

The supplied mirror measures 100 cm wide by 4 cm deep by 140 cm high and is available in Bronzage. Custom sizes and finishes are available on request. We would compare its proportions with the furniture below and the architectural lines nearby. The vertical format can be useful above a cabinet or console, while the internal arrangement adds a different rhythm from a single sheet of glass within a conventional rectangular frame.

In a sitting room, we would pair Urbane II with a broad timber cabinet and plain upholstery, allowing the mirrored rectangles to provide movement. In a hallway, it could make a defined focal point above a restrained console. We would also consider it for a dining room with simple chairs and a quiet wall colour. A textured ceramic vessel below would offer a softer counterpoint to the metal grid without introducing another strong geometric motif.

We would check the reflected scene before settling the hanging height, paying particular attention to how windows, lamps and pictures appear within the separate rectangles. Marking the full outline on the wall also helps establish the relationship to surrounding furniture. We would ask the installer to confirm the wall substrate and appropriate fixing arrangement, then obtain care guidance for the metal and glass. Estimated delivery is 18–20 weeks, with any custom requirements discussed before the order is confirmed.
