Baobab Botanica was drawn as the companion to Tree of Life, and the relationship between the two is worth understanding. Where that design builds a single scene, this one takes the same flora and fauna apart and reassembles them as a network: leaves, stems, birds and creatures linked into a continuous web that runs in every direction across the wall.
The consequence is that nothing has a top or a bottom. The pattern has no orientation and no focal point, so the eye travels rather than settles, and a large repeat behaves like a much smaller one. It is a generous, busy design that nonetheless does not tire a room, because there is no single incident asking to be looked at twice.
The repeat is a full metre and the match is half drop, which staggers the network across adjacent widths and removes any trace of a vertical join, essential in a design this interconnected. Rolls are 0.7 m wide and 8 m long, so quantities need calculating carefully. Used across a whole room with plain upholstery and honest timber it reads as a decorated interior rather than as a feature wall, which is the better use of it. Order generously; a metre repeat is unforgiving on a short drop.
