The African Clay Water Pot is a beautifully aged vessel hand-formed by the Nupe people of north-central Nigeria. Crafted from heavy clay and incised with geometric patterns, it once served as a water storage pot, stacked in rows within Nupe homes and carried on the head using woven raffia rings.
Signs of wear, subtle discolouration, and surface markings reflect its practical past. Still in excellent condition, it now serves as a distinctive decorative piece.
