There is no pattern to speak of, only texture, and in Prussian Blue that texture shows as small shifts in depth across the cloth. It is a quiet, serious blue that works as a backdrop.

The composition is 59% linen, 34% wool and 7% polyester, and the cloth is 140 cm wide. It is rated to 35,000 rubs on the Martindale test, which places it comfortably in the range for regular domestic upholstery, including a sofa that is used daily. It is sold by the half metre, so order in multiples of 0.5m. There is no pattern repeat to account for, which keeps the quantities simple and the cutting economical.

We would use Hackney Tweed on a sofa or a pair of armchairs in a library or sitting room, where the depth of the blue anchors the space. It also makes a good headboard or a bedroom bench, and a single upholstered chair in a hallway will carry the colour without taking over. For pairings, we tend to place it against warm neutrals, such as oatmeal linen or a pale stone wall, and with brass or dark wood for contrast.

For making up, we would ask the upholsterer to cut all the pieces in the same direction, so the texture reads consistently across the frame.
