The Haiku Panel Throw is de Le Cuona at their most restrained, a throw built from distinct panels rather than a single length of cloth, so the eye moves across the piece in bands rather than reading it as one flat surface. The Pond/Paper colourway sets a soft, muted green against a pale, paper-like neutral, giving the throw a quiet two-tone character that works whether it is folded at the foot of a bed or left loose across an armchair. It has the studio's usual attention to natural, tactile cloth.
It is sold as a single throw at 140 centimetres wide, which gives generous coverage across a sofa or a super-king bed without needing a second piece. As with the rest of the de Le Cuona range, expect natural fibres and a hand that feels made rather than manufactured, with the panel construction adding both visual interest and a certain structure to how the throw falls.
We use the Haiku throw across the end of a bed as a layer of colour against plain linen sheets, or folded over the arm of a sofa in a sitting room where the palette is otherwise kept quiet. It works well with de Le Cuona's own cushions in related tones, and against oak, linen upholstery or a stone floor, where the Pond green has something calm to sit next to.
Being sold by the each, one throw is the unit, so it is worth checking the 140 centimetre width against the piece of furniture before ordering, particularly for a wide bed where two might be wanted for full coverage. Panel throws such as this should be treated gently, following the manufacturer's care instructions rather than a domestic wash, and we would keep it away from direct sun for long periods, as the paler panel is the one most likely to show fading first.
