This is a cushion in de Le Cuona's Jungle Silk, in the colour Sugarcane, finished with a textured fringe. The fringe is what sets it apart from a plain scatter cushion: it gives the edge some movement and weight and means the cushion has a clear character even when it is sitting among others. Sugarcane is a warm, soft tone that picks up light well, and we find it works as a gentle accent rather than a contrast, sitting comfortably against both pale and deep upholstery.

The cushion is 60 cm wide and is sold individually, with the reference JUN2C. We have not been given the height or depth, the filling or the exact composition of the cover, and we do not want to state them without checking. If any of those matter for your scheme, please ask us and we will confirm the specification before you order. As a guide to scale, 60 cm is a generous size and sits well on a full-sized sofa or at the head of a bed.

We tend to use a cushion like this as the finishing layer on a sofa that is already settled, perhaps one in linen or wool, where a single textured silk piece adds a little richness. On a bed, we would place a pair against the headboard in front of plainer pillows. It also suits a window seat or a deep armchair, where the fringe can sit visibly along the edge. We would pair it with cream, putty and soft brown tones, and with a larger cushion in a plain wool to balance the silk.

For care, silk and fringing are best treated gently, so we would avoid placing the cushion where it will be sat on or leant against heavily every day, and keep it out of strong direct sunlight, which can fade natural fibres over time. Plump the cushion by hand rather than beating it, and ask us for the manufacturer's care guidance before cleaning. Arrange the fringe so it falls outwards and is not trapped beneath the cushion.
