The Reef vase is a large ceramic piece with a simple, rounded form, the kind of object we place in a room to hold space rather than to compete with what is around it. In white, it reads as sculptural without being decorative, and the scale means it can stand alone on a console or plinth without looking lost. We tend to use pieces like this to settle a room, giving the eye somewhere quiet to rest among softer furnishings and pattern.
It is finished in a white ceramic glaze, and as a large-scale vase we would confirm the exact height, diameter and weight against the current specification before placing it, since these dimensions determine where it can sit safely and what surface it needs beneath it. We would also check whether it is intended to hold water, or is decorative only, before styling it with fresh or dried stems.
We would place the Reef vase on a console table in a hallway, on a mantelpiece in a living room, or at the centre of a long dining table where its scale can anchor the setting. It sits well against plaster walls, pale stone and linen, and equally against darker, more saturated schemes where its white form provides a break in colour.
Given its scale, we would check the depth of the shelf or table it is destined for, allowing enough clearance so the vase does not overhang an edge, and confirm floor or surface loading if it is to sit on a lighter piece of furniture. It requires no assembly, and should be lifted rather than dragged into position given the weight of ceramic at this size. We would wipe it clean with a soft, dry cloth rather than submerging it, unless the glaze is confirmed as fully waterproof.
