This is a cushion built around its edge. The fringe is the whole idea, a line of movement around an otherwise quiet square, and at 50 cm wide it is a size that sits comfortably in the corner of a sofa without crowding whoever is beside it. Pickle is a muted, savoury green, closer to olive than to anything bright, and it settles easily between neutrals. In a room a fringed cushion does something a plain one cannot: it softens a hard edge, and the fringe catches the light a little differently each time the cushion is moved or turned.
The Tatami cushion is 50 cm wide, finished with a fringe, and sold each. We have not been given a fibre content or a depth for this piece, so we will confirm both before you order rather than guess. They matter more than they sound. Composition decides how the cushion holds its shape and how the fringe hangs, and depth decides how it sits against a sofa back. We tend to use a cushion like this as the single accent in a calm scheme. One at each end of a sofa upholstered in oatmeal or stone linen works well, as does a single cushion in a reading chair, or one set in front of the pillows on a bed where the fringe can be seen. Pickle sits well with warm greys, chalky whites and natural oak, and it keeps good company with rust or deep brown if the room needs warmth. Keep the other cushions plain so the fringe can be the detail.
