This is the same tundra wool ottoman we use throughout a project when a low, upholstered stool is needed rather than another chair, here in walnut, a deeper, more mid-brown tone than the umber colourway. The wool is close and firm to the hand, built to hold up under daily use as a seat or a footrest, and the round form makes it easy to place without it fighting for space in a room.
It measures 50 cm wide, sold as each, upholstered in de Le Cuona's tundra wool. The cloth is a solid, tightly constructed wool rather than an open weave, which is what allows it to be used as upholstery on a piece that takes weight and wear rather than reserved for cushions or throws.
We would use it at the foot of a bed as a place to sit while dressing, in a dressing room proper, or as a second seat beside an armchair in a study or snug. Walnut works particularly well against warm wood furniture and tobacco or rust-toned textiles, holding the room together rather than standing apart.
Check the 50 cm footprint against your layout before ordering, especially if it is going at the foot of a bed where you still need room to walk. It comes upholstered and ready to use straight away. As with any wool-covered piece, keep it out of strong direct sun and deal with spills quickly, blotting rather than scrubbing into the weave.
