A wallcovering endowed with a pictorial personality gives a new twist to one of the noblest expressions of the textile tradition: a seventeenth century wall adornment becomes a modern tapestry. The typical irregularities of a jute ground enhance texture and matter, while combining the woven effects of digital printing with textile weaves: the dark background accentuates the sensation of authenticity. Recollections of Schwarzwald fabric inspire the pattern but the mural interpretation reveals an identity of its own, in terms of colour and reflections.
