Sangpi, an ancestor of washi paper, embraces new identities. Cut out, glued and juxtaposed, it forms a series of sheer abstract paintings. From irregular positions to superimpositions, the paper leaves flat surfaces to find relief and sculpt the light. On the panoramic coverings, the sangpi becomes a painter's canvas, drawing huge spontaneous pictures. Rough sketches that hint at future intentions and emotions, captured in full flow in the artist's studio...

This collection transposes the works of Art Paper wall coverings into vinyl. The incredibly precise paper effect allows the velvety texture of the material to be felt. Painted in full or 3/4 scale, the original paintings finely reproduce the accuracy of the lines and the juxtaposition of colours, giving an almost palpable rendering of the painted work.
