Ditsy is exactly what its name says: a tiny, scattered floral from George & Minnie's Minnie Prints wallpapers, drawn in two colours on a non-woven ground with a 12 centimetre repeat. The flowers are small enough that the wall reads as a gentle speckle of colour from across the room, and only up close do they resolve into blooms and leaves. It is the kind of paper that makes a small room feel dressed without making it feel smaller.
It is 100 per cent non-woven, 52 centimetres wide, with a 12 centimetre vertical repeat. There are 7 colourways: Aqua/Blush, Daffodil/Emerald, Denim/Daffodil, Blush/Emerald, Aqua/Sage, Periwinkle/Forest and Grass/Parchment. Aqua/Blush and Aqua/Sage are the softest for a bedroom; Denim/Daffodil and Periwinkle/Forest have more contrast and suit a hall or a cloakroom, and Daffodil/Emerald is the sunniest of the group for a room that does not get much light.
We use Ditsy on all four walls of a child's bedroom or a small guest room, inside a wardrobe or a cupboard as a surprise, and in attic rooms where the small scale copes well with awkward angles. A larger Volume One print on the curtains or a headboard, in a colour picked from the paper, gives the room a focus. Sold by the roll; order a sample before committing to a full room.
Being non-woven it is paste-the-wall: paste the wall, hang the dry lengths and butt the joins, and it strips dry afterwards, which matters in a child's room that will be redecorated one day. The 12 centimetre repeat means very little waste when matching drops, so cutting is economical. As a rough guide, a 4 metre wall at standard ceiling height takes around 3 rolls; measure the room, order from one batch and keep a spare length for repairs.
