Offset is the wallpaper version of one of the small-scale prints in George & Minnie's Minnie Prints Wallpapers: a simple hand-drawn mark repeated in a staggered arrangement, so that the motifs step across the wall rather than sitting in rows. Printed in a single colour on a pale ground, it reads as an even, lively texture from across the room and only shows its hand when you are standing next to it.
It is printed on a 100 per cent non-woven backing, 52 centimetres wide, with a vertical repeat of just 11.5 centimetres. There are ten colourways, among them Parchment, Blush, Periwinkle, Sage and Daffodil, each one colour on the ground. They are dyed to the same references as the Offset fabric and the rest of the collection, so a Forest Offset paper will match a Forest Offset cotton at the windows if you want the fully matched room, or a Forest ticking if you want a lighter touch.
We use it as a background paper: all four walls of a bedroom with a bigger print on the bed, a hall or landing, a bathroom above panelling, the inside of a dressing room. It is also a good choice for a rental or a guest room, where you want warmth and pattern without a strong personality. Sold by the roll; order a sample before committing to a full room.
Non-woven papers are usually hung paste-the-wall; check the label for the match type. With a repeat this short there is barely any waste: the roll is 52 centimetres wide and, assuming the usual 10 metre length, a 2.4 metre high wall gives three drops per roll, so a wall 3.5 metres long needs seven drops and three rolls, or two if the ceilings are lower. Small patterns show every bump, so prepare the wall properly first.
