Strawberry Tea is the small strawberry print from George & Minnie's Minnie Prints wallpapers, a little fruit-and-leaf motif drawn in one colour on a non-woven ground with a 13 centimetre repeat. From across the room it is a soft speckle of colour; close to, the strawberries appear, which is the sort of detail that makes a child laugh and a grown-up smile. It is a light, easy paper for rooms that are used every day.
It is 100 per cent non-woven, 52 centimetres wide, with a 13 centimetre vertical repeat. There are 4 colourways: Aqua, Daffodil, Walnut and Emerald. Aqua and Daffodil are the summery ones and the obvious choice for a nursery or a kitchen; Walnut is quieter and more grown-up, and Emerald has the most depth and suits a room with painted furniture. The same strawberries are printed on a linen and cotton cloth in the Minnie Prints collection.
We use Strawberry Tea on all four walls of a kitchen or a breakfast room, in a child's bedroom with Checkmate at the window, above the tiles in a scullery or a utility room, and inside a larder or a dresser, where a small print makes opening the door a pleasure. Sold by the roll; order a sample before committing to a full room.
Being non-woven it is hung paste-the-wall: paste the wall, hang the dry lengths, butt the joins and wipe off any paste before it dries; it strips dry when the room changes. The 13 centimetre repeat means very little waste when matching drops. As a rough guide, a 4 metre wall at standard ceiling height takes around 3 rolls; measure before ordering and buy from one batch so the colour is consistent across the room.
