GP & J Baker | Baker Iris

Baker Iris is a patterned velvet from the Signature Velvets collection, the iris flower drawn at a generous scale across a 59 by 70 centimetre repeat so the bloom and its long leaves read clearly rather than dissolving into an all-over texture. The pile gives the flower's form real presence, catching light differently across the raised petal shapes.

The cloth is 55 per cent viscose and 45 per cent cotton, a blend that gives the pile a soft hand and a good depth of colour.
