Canyon is a plain from the Essential Colours group, offered in one of the widest colour ranges in the House's collection: nine colourways spanning pale neutrals through to blue, green and a warm metallic. The composition is 52 per cent viscose, 42 per cent linen and 6 per cent polyester. It is 137 centimetres wide with no stated repeat, and GP & J Baker tested it to 40,000 Martindale rubs, which is rated for upholstery. There are nine colourways in total; Ivory, Parchment, Spice, Azure and Bronze give a sense of the range, from the palest neutral to a warm metallic, with Marble, Indigo, Sea Foam and Sage completing the collection.

We use it for a sofa, curtains or a pair of chairs in almost any scheme, since the colour range is wide enough to find a genuine match for most palettes. Pair the neutrals with an archive floral, and let Azure or Sage carry colour in a quieter room built around a single strong tone rather than a printed pattern.
