Cloudline is a Kit Kemp design of soft, scalloped cloud forms layered across the paper in a loose, hand-drawn repeat. It has the rhythm of a stripe without the rigidity, and from a distance it reads as a gentle texture that gives a wall movement without demanding attention. The 26.5 centimetre repeat keeps the scale friendly for small rooms and landings. It is the design in the collection that most closely does the job of a plain, and the one we use when a client wants pattern that will not tire.
It is a non-woven, paste-the-wall paper on a standard 10 metre by 52 centimetre roll, with a 26.5 centimetre vertical repeat. Seven colourways: Chocolate, Blue/Green, Green, Spice, Indigo, Soft Red/Green and Teal/Spice. Chocolate and Indigo are the deep options for a study or a dining room; Green and Blue/Green are fresh; Spice and Teal/Spice are warm; Soft Red/Green is the most decorative of the seven.
We use it in bedrooms and bathrooms, where its softness suits the room, and on a landing where a stripe would feel too formal. It works on all four walls and it is a good background for pictures. Pair with plain linens or one of the collection's florals on a blind. In a child's room it is gentle enough for a nursery and grown-up enough to stay when the child is older. Sold by the roll; order a sample before committing to a full room.
Paste the wall and hang the drops dry; check the match on the label and allow a repeat per drop. A 3 metre wall at 2.4 metres high takes about 2 rolls. Order all rolls from one batch and keep a little spare for repairs. It is forgiving of slightly uneven walls because the pattern has no hard lines.
