Forest Flower is one of the seven statement designs in the second GP & J Baker x Kit Kemp wallpaper collection: a dense, all-over flowering pattern drawn with the loose, hand-worked character that runs through Kit Kemp's work. The flowers and leaves pack closely across the paper, so it behaves more like a textile than a wallpaper and gives a room an enclosed, layered feel. The 26.5 centimetre repeat is small for the scale of the drawing, which keeps the pattern even. It is the design in the collection that most rewards being used on every wall.
It is a non-woven, paste-the-wall paper on a standard 10 metre by 52 centimetre roll, with a 26.5 centimetre vertical repeat. Five colourways: Plaster, Blue/Green, Teal/Spice, Spice/Ochre and Earth. Plaster is the palest and the easiest in a bedroom; Blue/Green is fresh; Teal/Spice and Spice/Ochre are warmer and suit a dining room or study; Earth is the deepest and best in lamplight.
We use it on all four walls of a small room, a cloakroom, a study or a guest bedroom, where a dense pattern makes the space feel finished rather than small. In a larger room it works behind a bed with Cubby plain on the other walls. Pair with plain linens picked from the colourway. In a hallway it makes a good backdrop for pictures if they are framed simply. Sold by the roll; order a sample before committing to a full room.
Non-woven papers are pasted to the wall, not the paper, so drops go up dry and can be adjusted. Check the match on the label and allow a repeat per drop; a 3 metre wall at 2.4 metres high takes about 2 rolls. Cut all drops from the same batch. Order a spare roll for repairs.
