Lord's Linen is a textured plain from the Royal Weaves group, part of the Luxury Textures books, woven from a six-fibre blend built to give a linen-like surface real stability and a soft, stony hand. It is one of the more considered plains in the Historic Royal Palaces collaboration, meant to read as quietly expensive rather than plain in the ordinary sense.
The composition is 30 per cent linen, 30 per cent acrylic, 20 per cent viscose, 10 per cent polyester, 5 per cent nylon and 5 per cent cotton. It is 139 centimetres wide with no stated repeat, and GP & J Baker tested it to 30,000 Martindale rubs, which is rated for upholstery. Four colourways: Ivory, Parchment, Platinum and Silver, all pale, close neutrals that shift between warm and cool depending on which you choose.
We use it for a sofa or curtains in a room built around a pale, tonal palette, where the subtle differences between the four colourways let you layer texture without introducing colour.
