GP & J Baker | Seed Pod

Seed Pod is a small botanical print from the Coromandel Small Prints collection, its motif drawn from the pods and seed heads left once a flower has gone over, set at a neat 15 by 9.8 centimetre repeat. It has a quieter, more textural character than a full bloom print, reading as an even, all-over pattern rather than a single motif to trace across the cloth, and it works well as a companion to a bolder print from the same family.

The cloth is 67 per cent viscose and 33 per cent linen, a blend that gives the print a little sheen and drape over the linen's natural texture. It is 138 centimetres wide, with a 15 centimetre vertical and 9.8 centimetre horizontal repeat, and no rub count is stated, so we would keep it to curtains and occasional upholstery rather than daily-use seating. Three colourways: Red, Blue and Ochre; Blue is the coolest and most versatile, Ochre the warmest.

We use it for curtains in a kitchen or garden room, and it covers a small chair or window seat well where the neat repeat holds up to close inspection at hand height.
