Winslow Embroidery is the design that gives the 2026 Winslow collection its name: a botanical embroidery worked in dense, raised stitching across a linen and viscose ground. The stitch sits proud of the cloth, so the pattern reads as relief as much as colour, and in a room it behaves like a piece of textile rather than a print. The 39 centimetre vertical repeat keeps the scale friendly; it patterns a wall of curtain without dominating it.

The ground is 75 per cent linen and 25 per cent viscose, which gives a dry, slightly slubbed hand with a little more drape than a pure linen. It comes 132 centimetres wide with a 39 centimetre vertical and 66 centimetre horizontal repeat, and GP & J Baker specify it for curtains and bedspreads. There is one colourway, Green, a soft leaf tone stitched onto a natural ground; it sits well against limewashed walls and with brass or aged oak.

We tend to use it for full-length curtains in a bedroom or drawing room, where the embroidery catches side light in the morning and evening. It also makes a good bed throw or a pair of large cushions on a plain linen sofa. We would pair it with a plain in a similar green, or with one of the collection's small geometrics on a chair. Sold by the half metre; order a sample to see it in your own light.

A making-up note: embroidered cloths need a full lining and, for curtains, an interlining to give the stitch something to sit against and to protect it from sun. Allow one extra repeat per drop for matching, and ask your curtain maker to press from the reverse over a soft cloth so the stitching is not flattened. It is not rated for seating, so keep it to windows, beds and cushions.
