Ziggy is a small printed zigzag, rows of hand-drawn chevrons on a plain cotton ground with the line thickening and thinning as a brush would leave it. It is a simple idea, and at this scale it works as a texture rather than as a statement. In a scheme built on florals it gives the eye something geometric to land on without changing the mood. The chevrons are small and close together, so the cloth holds its colour evenly across a width.
One hundred per cent cotton, 137 centimetres wide, with a square repeat of 14 centimetres each way. It is listed for curtains, loose and fixed upholstery and bedspreads. Five colourways: Blue, Aqua, Soft Red, Sand and Green. Sand is the neutral that will sit under anything, Blue and Aqua are the cool pair, and Soft Red and Green both work against the small florals in the same collection.
We use it for cushions, lampshades and blinds, for loose covers on small chairs and stools, and for curtains in a child's room or a bathroom. It also makes a good contrast lining. Keep the chevrons level: a zigzag shows a crooked seam more clearly than most small prints, so match the rows carefully and check the cloth is square before cutting. One repeat per drop is enough for matching. On lampshades, set the join so that a complete chevron meets rather than half of one.
