Secret is a heavy, dense plain, at 1,200 grams per linear metre the heaviest cloth in this whole batch, with a firm, papery hand that holds a fold with real conviction. It is a cloth for a curtain that needs to look substantial from across the room rather than drape softly, and it reads as a solid, quiet block of colour.

It is 100 per cent FR polyester, tested to EN1021 parts 1 and 2 as well as the French M1 rating, so it carries a fuller contract fire certification than most of the plains in this drop, worth knowing if this is destined for a hotel, a holiday let or any space that needs papers to show an inspector. At 300 centimetres it is wide enough to railroad a full-length drop. There are three colourways, Blanc, Beige and Taupe, a tight, deliberately restrained neutral range rather than a wide palette.

We would specify this for full-length curtains in a space that wants weight and quiet rather than pattern, a study, a formal sitting room, a hotel suite, and for wall upholstery where a large flat panel of neutral colour needs real substance rather than a lightweight cloth. It pairs naturally with linen, boucle and aged timber. Sold by the half metre; order a sample to see it in your own light.

At 300 centimetres, a standard window can usually be railroaded off a single length with no vertical seam, which is worth doing given how visible a join would be on a cloth this dense. Given the weight, we would ask the maker to use heavy-duty heading tape and generous hooks, and to interline it only if the room needs extra insulation, since the base cloth already has enough body to hang well on its own.
