Lattice Mosaic works a small interlocking geometry across a natural-fibre ground, so you get a defined pattern and a real texture in the same surface. The repeat is tight, which means the design reads as an overall field rather than a sequence of motifs, closer to a woven cloth than a printed paper. The ground keeps the whole thing matt, so nothing bounces light back at you. From across a room it settles into tone; from a metre away the lattice comes forward.

Each roll is 91 centimetres wide and 7.32 metres long, with a 20 centimetre vertical repeat. Four colourways: Silver, the palest; Heath, a soft green-grey; Pimento, a warm red-brown; and Anthracite, the darkest. Because the ground is a natural fibre, tone varies a little between panels. That variation is part of the material and is best accommodated in the hang rather than treated as a defect.

We use it in rooms that can take a pattern without wanting a loud one: a small study, a cloakroom, the back of a fitted dressing room. In a larger room it works on the wall behind the bed with plain paint elsewhere. It pairs with a plain linen curtain and an undyed wool rug. Two walls of it in a small room is usually one too many. Order a sample to see it in your own light.

Hang it paste-the-wall, matching the 20 centimetre repeat at each seam, and allow a little extra on the first drop for setting out. Keep paste off the face and wipe the seams as you go. Order every roll at once and check the batch numbers match on all the labels. We would add a spare roll, since a short repeat still loses length at each match and later repairs need the same batch.
