Matthew Williamson | Zamba

Zamba is a semi-plain woven with horizontal rows of chenille dots in relief, the soft pile of each dot standing off the ground so the cloth carries texture in ordered lines. It reads as a plain with a pulse, quiet at a distance, dimensional in the hand.

Woven in Italy from viscose with cotton, linen and polyester, it is 140 centimetres wide with a substantial 740gsm weight. A rub test result of 45,000 puts it comfortably beyond general domestic upholstery, and it serves curtains and cushions just as well.
