Bohemian Travels wallpaper takes the same swirling paisley as the linen fabric of the same name and prints it large on a smooth non-woven paper. At 76 centimetres the repeat is generous, so the teardrop motifs have real scale on a wall, closer to a kilim spread out than a small repeating print. It is the most exotic paper in the Bohemian Romance range, and it wants a room confident enough to carry it. The colour has been kept deliberately restrained, so the design carries the exoticism without tipping the room into pastiche.

The paper is 100 per cent non-woven, 68.5 centimetres wide, with a 76 centimetre vertical repeat. There is one colourway, Indigo, a deep, inky blue that lets the paisley read as texture and shadow rather than bright pattern, which is what makes it easier to live with on four walls than the colour name might suggest.

We would paper a bedroom in it, keeping the bed in plain linen, or use it on the walls of a dressing room or a cloakroom where the scale can be appreciated. The matching Bohemian Travels Linen fabric, in Sand or Multi, makes a good cushion or blind in the same room. Sold by the roll; order a sample before committing to a full room.

Hanging note: as a non-woven paper it is normally pasted to the wall and hung dry, but check the leaflet in the roll for the maker's paste and match instruction, and centre the first drop on the focal wall so the paisley motifs balance either side of a bed or a chimney breast. On a standard 10 metre roll, expect around two drops at 2.4 metres, so a 4 metre wall needs two rolls, three to allow for returns.
