Morning Gallop is one of the Icons Wallpapers, and it is as equestrian as Mulberry gets: a scene of horses at full gallop, drawn with real movement and caught mid-stride, printed on a smooth non-woven paper at a scale generous enough to let the horses properly run. It is a paper with genuine sporting energy, built for a house that takes its horses seriously, whether that means an actual yard or simply a love of the subject.
The paper is 100 per cent non-woven, 70 centimetres wide, with a 50 centimetre vertical repeat. There are four colourways: Grey/Sand and Blue/Sand are the two-colour options, one cooler and one warmer against the same neutral ground; Antique sits on a warm, aged colourway that suits an older house; and Teal is the single-colour version, the most contemporary of the four.
We would paper a hall, a study or a boot room in it, where the subject is entirely at home, or use it on a single wall behind a bed with the rest of the room kept plain. Hanging note: as a non-woven paper it is normally pasted to the wall and hung dry; check the leaflet in the roll for the paste and match, and plan the first drop so a complete horse, not a fragment, falls at eye level. As a rule of thumb, a standard 10 metre roll gives four drops at 2.4 metres, so a 4 metre wall takes two rolls. Buy from a single batch.
