Amberley is a deeply tactile plain, its surface reminiscent of lambs' fleece, woven in a palette of soft natural shades. It is the kind of fabric on which a quiet room is built: no pattern to speak of, simply texture, warmth and depth.
Woven in Turkey at 134 centimetres from a blend of viscose, cotton, linen and polyester, it is a substantial cloth of 620 grams per square metre with a soft, enveloping handle. A Martindale result of 65,000 rubs makes it thoroughly suited to general domestic upholstery — sofas and armchairs in daily use — as well as cushions and upholstered headboards.
