Appledore is a playful zig-zag, its colour combinations arranged so the chevrons gather into horizontal stripes, geometry with a sense of humour rather than a ruler. The design takes its cue from the decorative embroidery of Tudeley, in Nina Campbell's Dallimore collection.
It is worked in Italy on a cloth of viscose, cotton and linen, 146 centimetres wide and substantial at 502 grams per square metre.
Rated at 20,000 Martindale rubs, it suits domestic chairs, stools and cushions, and the horizontal banding wraps well around upholstered shapes; as curtains it reads as a soft, rhythmic stripe.
