Arno runs coloured stripes down a linen union, a straightforward, well-mannered stripe named after the river that moves through Florence. The weave beneath gives the printed bands a softly textured edge, so the stripe reads as cloth rather than graphic.

Printed in the United Kingdom on a linen and cotton ground at 140 centimetres, it has a rub test of 24,000, right for everyday curtains, blinds, cushions and lighter upholstery, an occasional chair, a window-seat squab. Stripes of this temper are the connective tissue of a scheme, happy alongside florals, checks and plains alike.
