Bansuri is a stripe woven to resemble a picot braid, the coloured bands set against a neutral ground so each stripe appears appliquéd rather than merely woven. It has the haberdasher's charm of ribbon-work, translated into substantial cloth.
Woven in Italy at 142 centimetres from a blend of viscose, linen, cotton and polyester, it weighs 600 grams per square metre and handles with soft weight.
