Basholi hand-block prints a zig-zag of fan-shaped leaves into a decorative border, mirrored on either side of a woven linen stripe, so print and weave divide the cloth between them in ordered bands. The block printing leaves each repeat fractionally different, which keeps the geometry human.
It is made in India on 100 per cent linen, 136 centimetres wide at 240 grams per square metre.
The banded construction suits curtains and blinds especially, where the borders run the full drop, and cushions and occasional upholstery, where a border can be placed deliberately.
