Bicton is a printed stripe enlivened with metallic bands, run on a textured linen union so the shine sits against a dry, slubbed ground. The pairing is the point, most of the cloth is quiet natural texture, and the metallic lines pass through it like wire through cloth, catching the light in movement.

It is printed in the United Kingdom on a union of 59 per cent linen and 41 per cent cotton, 140 centimetres wide.

With a Martindale rating of 38,000 rubs it is thoroughly capable of everyday upholstery, and it is especially good as curtains and blinds, where the metallic bands glint as the cloth folds and the stripe runs the full drop.
